When preparing for extensive walking, make sure to adjust the level of fluid intake according to your individual needs. There is no pattern or designated amount, because every body reacts individually – the best way to measure your needed intake is to combine weighing yourself before and after practise in different conditions, while drinking fluids, and see have you lost or gained weight. Losing means dehydration, while gaining means you’re waterlogged as a sinking ship – you do not have to drink only when you feel thirst (unconsciousness, overheating), and you don’t need to overload because it can only cause trouble, such as dilution of blood. As far as food is concerned, just make sure that you eat on a regular basis.
